Liposuction
Liposuction is a body contouring surgical procedure to remove unwanted excess localized fat in specific areas of the body. It is performed through small incisions usually not greater than one quarter of an inch in length. After the fat is injected with a special fluid a cannula is inserted into the incision and moved back and forth to break up the excess fat. The fat is then suctioned out into a canister. Once these fat cells are removed they should not return. As long as a sensible diet and exercise program is followed, the results of liposuction should be relatively permanent.
Liposuction is the removal of excess fat from a particular area. It has become one of the most commonly performed cosmetic surgery procedures for both men and women.
